    • Egg component is derived from yolk, whereas the egg white albumin is antigenic
    • All antigenic protein from soya bean oil removed
  • Studies have shown allergy to propofol extremely rare:
    • Editorial concluded “there is convincing evidence that propofol is safe in patients who are allergic to peanut and/or soy and/or egg. Further research is required before children who have experienced severe anaphylaxis to egg”
