What is normal intracranial pressure (ICP)?

  • Normal ICP in adults is 5-15mmHg
  • It is constantly varying:
    • Throughout the cardiac cycle
    • Throughout the respiratory cycl
    • With exercise, coughing and straining (can reach 50mmHg in the normal brain)
