Describe how to identify the correct site for insertion of an intraosseous needle at the proximal humerus site??

Proximal Humerus
  • Place the hand across the abdomen, adducting the elbow and internally rotating the shoulder 1
  • Palpate deeply up the humerus to the surgical neck 1 (the spot where the “ball” meets the “tee”)
  • Insertion site: 1-2cm above the surgical neck 1, on the most prominent aspect of the greater tubercle of the humerus
