- Intervention should be performed for patients with:

- Symptomatic severe aortic stenosis
- Asymptomatic severe aortic stenosis with any of:
- Systolic LV dysfunction (LVEF <50%) not due to another cause
- Abnormal exercise testing
- Markedly elevated BNP
- Severe pulmonary hypertension without other explanation
- Intervention should not be performed in patients:
- With severe comorbidities (e.g. associated with survival <1 year)
- When the intervention is unlikely to improve quality of life or survival
