- Risk to the clinician (e.g. lack of patient compliance) 1
- Fracture in target bone 1(compartment syndrome risk)
- Attempt on target bone within 48 hours 1

- Previous surgery near the insertion site (caution plates or implants) 1
- Severe obesity or disrupted anatomical landmarks 1
- Osteopetrosis 1 (fracture risk)
