You should be able to:

- Summarise the complications associated with IO
- Detail the uses of IO access including investigations from samples and drugs and fluids administered
- Summarise common sites for insertion in adults and children and describe how to identify them
- Understand the devices available to obtain intraosseous access and how to select the correct size of needle
- Perform intraosseous needle insertion
- Describe the anatomy of long bones relevant to IO access
